Todd M. Welsh, DMD
Dr. Todd M. Welsh was born in the small town of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Dickinson College, where he lettered in football. He continued his education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, graduating with honors in 2000, and completing a general dentistry residency as Chief Resident in 2001. Following several years of gaining experience as a general dentist, completing a fellowship in oral surgery and teaching at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Welsh chose to pursue his orthodontic training. He graduated from the orthodontic residency at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2005.
Dr. Welsh provides orthodontic services to children, adolescents and adults. He is an expert in craniofacial growth and development and has completed hundreds of hours of continued education in orthodontics. Dr. Welsh is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.
Dr. Welsh uses only the best and most advanced orthodontic materials. He is determined to minimize the discomfort associated with orthodontics, while also minimizing treatment time and achieving outstanding results for his patients. Due to his experience as a general dentist and his experience working for some of the top oral surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists and orthodontists in the country, Dr. Welsh understands that orthodontics is more than just straightening teeth and fixing a bite. Patients need a comprehensive treatment plan that evaluates their overall dental health and facial aesthetics and that also provides a foundation for a beautiful smile and an optimal bite that will last a lifetime. However, a great smile is not enough. Every patient also needs to enjoy their orthodontic experience and feel proud of their final treatment result.
To better achieve the goal of comprehensive treatment and interdisciplinary dental care, Dr. Welsh currently hosts a local Spear Study Club for local area dental professionals which focuses on delivering continuing education and providing the most efficient, highest level of dental care through the “team-based” approach.
